Brief History

The Spitfire was used during WW II as a fighter aircraft. The version used by the 109th in Europe was as a photo reconnaissance aircraft.

The Spitfire was designed as a fighter aircraft. However, it served in other roles as well. It was flown by the 109th Reconnaissance Squadron in Europe from 1942 to 1943, before the unit converted to the F- 51B.

This version is a 3/4 scale reproduction of the Spitfire.
